Charles Romano is a multi-faceted singer, actor, and songwriter from Newtown, Connecticut. His love for music began early—at four years old, he started piano lessons and sang in his local church choir. At thirteen, he joined NewArts, an organization created in response to the Sandy Hook tragedy to help young people heal through the arts. It was there that Charles discovered his passion for theatre, originating the role of Francis Flute in A Rockin’ Midsummer Night’s Dream and later starring as Joseph in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. He remained involved with the company throughout high school, performing and working as an educator and mentor.

Charles attended Franklin & Marshall College, initially pursuing a double major in Physics and French before following his heart into the arts and earning a BA in Theatre and Music Performance. While at F&M, he appeared in productions such as Legally Blonde (Emmett), The Addams Family (Lucas), Head Over Heels (Basilius), and Our Country’s Good (Ralph Clark). Regionally, he’s taken on a wide range of roles, including Prince Topher in Cinderella, Sky Masterson in Guys and Dolls, Anthony in Sweeney Todd, the Beast in Beauty and the Beast, and Lord Farquaad in Shrek the Musical.

In addition to performing, Charles has worked as a music director and arranger for a cappella groups throughout high school and college, leading ensembles and crafting vocal arrangements across a variety of genres. As an educator, he runs his own practice as a private voice, piano, and guitar instructor out of his home studio. As a solo artist, he writes and releases original music under the name Chorlsy, blending theatrical storytelling with an indie-pop sound.

With a vocal range that spans from baritenor to countertenor and a strong background in piano, guitar, composition, and arranging, Charles brings both musicality and emotional depth to every project. When he's not on stage or in the studio, he can be found surrounded by piles of LEGO.
